Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing 2 becomes Sonic and All Stars Racing: Transformed

Now the sequel to Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing becomes Sonic and All Stars Racing: Transformed. In this new game, the racing cars transform to any type of vehicle. The game will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, and PC Digital Download, according to SEGA of America Inc. and Sonic's Facebook page. This will be the first Sonic game for the PSVita.

Transformations include Sonic's car transforming into a hover car or Tails' Tornado transforming into a old 1960s styled Formula 1 car.

Sonic co-creator Hirokazu Yasuhara is now working for Nintendo. This man is well-known for the game planner for various Mega Drive/Genesis and SEGA Saturn Sonic games, from Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) to Sonic R (Saturn: 1997, PC: 1998).

Big the Cat to dissapear from Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic Team is no longer going to use Big the Cat in Sonic the Hedgehog in the future, meaning it might be good day or sad day for Sonic fans. According to recent to interviews with Takashi Iizuka, he says:

“We just have not found a good use for him”. “We tried him as a fisherman and a strongman but nothing worked out.”

Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing 2 is listed on eStarland, but later removed

Listings for the Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing sequel we first brought you word about in January have appeared at US retailer eStarland.com. The site lists Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing 2 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii platforms and says the game will be released November 30th 2012, which is likely a placeholder date, because games usually release in the US on a Tuesday, not a Friday. There are no signs of Wii U, 3DS and PS Vita versions, but at this early stage anything could change.
